Author Biography

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a very upfront, direct, and honest person. I don’t say things that I don’t mean, and I am very open about how I feel. I enjoy being active in the community, serving in food banks, volunteering in hospitals, and generally trying to help those out in need. I am motivated by my family, my career, and my goals as a writer. I always want to succeed and do the best that I can in each aspect of my life for my family and for self-satisfaction in accomplishing what I set out to do. As far as hobbies, I LOVE history, especially ancient history. first thoughts for this book began while I was deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan. I wanted to tell a story…a realistic story in a fantastic setting surrounding a diverse group of characters with different personalities, flaws, religions, and thinking processes. One about a very flawed man who loved his kingdom. A man who, in many ways, was incomplete, shallow, and hollow. Many aspects of this book were loosely taken, or directly taken from similar personal instances or situations that I witnessed or have been involved with in my life/military career. Sadness is real. Loss of life is real. Bigotry is real. But so is love. And it is this combination that makes us human, interesting, and ultimately fascinating.

Dreams of Hegemony by Christopher Reamy is an epic fantasy that will have you on the edge of your seat and make sure that you are not going anywhere until you have read the novel through and reach the end. The story follows Cronos, a young emperor who is filled with the desire to restore the nation of Peridell to its lost greatness. His people are battered and bruised after the war with a mysterious force, but this is not enough to stop Cronos from making his people happy. Dedicated and brave, Cronos will stop at nothing, even if something is after him!

He is plagued by strange, horrific dreams that leave him breathless and fearful. These dreams bring about a sense of foreboding that he cannot let go of and that he cannot get out of his mind. He has no idea that these dreams are a warning of a future that is even grimmer than the past. He has to figure out what these dreams mean or else he will have to face total failure and lose his people and his realm once and for all. He is thrust into a position that can jeopardize his whole future and his life as well. Can Cronos find out what danger lies ahead? Or will he perish along with his people?

Boy, was this novel dark and intense! This is the best kind of dark literature that grips your attention and makes you beg for more. I loved reading about Cronos, his dreams that disturb him, and the way he starts to take action against it all. He is not afraid to take necessary action and he is not afraid to admit that he is scared, which makes him among the best protagonists that I have read this year. Fast-paced, action-packed and intelligently woven, Dreams of Hegemony is a wonderful novel and a fantastic piece of fiction that promises to be one of the best novels you will ever read! I was so happy and satisfied after reading it!

Dreams of Hegemony by Christopher Reamy is an epic fantasy that paints a powerful picture of an empire traversing the worst period of its history. The war is over, a war that has been fought for seven long years, and Peridell is devastated. Now, the young emperor Cronos wants nothing more than to return Athena to her former glory, but things are more challenging than he could ever have imagined. Besides being besieged by dreadful visions, he has to deal with greater threats that loom ahead. He has to measure his strength and form alliances where he never expected any, but can he fend off the threat of a new darkness and lead his empire to a new era of prosperity?

This is a well-narrated, beautiful story, and the reader is immediately drawn into the setting. The image of a young man, seated in an empty hall and contemplating history in the form of images of lost heroes, struck me the moment I started reading. I enjoyed the eeriness in the atmosphere, the sense of mystery evoked in the opening of this story, and I instantly knew that Christopher Reamy may have great surprises for readers. I wasn’t wrong. The reader is plunged into an exciting world with its unique rules and style of life, where readers can expect the worst at any given moment. The characters are wonderfully crafted and readers will find Cronos to be a compelling character. The kernel of doubt, the feeling that something the reader dreads could happen any moment, propels the story forward and keeps the reader turning the pages. Dreams of Hegemony is well written, fast paced, and sophisticated enough to arouse interest in the reader. An entertaining piece, indeed!

A world rendered desolate by war, a hero determined to bring back the former glory of his empire, insurmountable obstacles lurking ahead, and enemies at every step of the journey are woven into the powerful conflict in this epic fantasy, a tale with fascinating characters and a wonderful setting. Readers are introduced to post-war Peridell, a land ravaged and almost devastated by war. Cronos, the young emperor of Athena, would do anything to restore his realm to what it used to be. Follow his story as he faces untold challenges and seeks new alliances and even reconciliation with old enemies. But can he beat the threat that looms ahead? Dreams of Hegemony by Christopher Reamy fulfills the saying that heroes are forged through fire, a tale of a kingdom on its journey towards rebirth.

This is a first class fantasy that will have readers thrilled and utterly entertained, written in a friendly, accessible style that is, in itself, a delight, thanks to the excellent narrative and economy of words. The story features intense moments throughout the entire work, with vivid descriptions capturing the action that punctuates the plot. Dreams of Hegemony is fast-paced and the plot is conceived to surprise the reader at every turn and compel them to keep turning the pages. I found the setting to be exceptional, an imaginary place that feels so real, thanks to the author’s skill in creating strong images in the minds of readers. Christopher Reamy is a gifted writer and he comes across in this story as a master entertainer. It was a delight to read this novel.

A compelling story with an excellent setting, Dreams of Hegemony by Christopher Reamy follows the path of a young emperor in his quest to restore a kingdom devastated by war. Cronos is inexperienced, enthusiastic, and determined to restore the old glory of Athena, a once dominant nation. The young emperor has premonitions of a bleak future, dreams whose hidden import he struggles to understand. As the story unfolds, he learns the meaning of his dreams, at the same time struggling to understand his mission. Follow him as he grows through strife and challenging times, battling enemies on all fronts. But a most powerful threat lurks in the darkness, and does he have what it takes to defeat it?

This is a story with a monumental conflict, a setting that is vivid and exciting, a world recovering from the devastation of a seven-year war. I enjoyed the way the author handled the conflict — both internal and physical — and how the conflict is constructed to drive the plot forward. Christopher Reamy is a master at creating worlds of fantasy that excite the minds of readers and unleash their imaginative energy. The plot is conceived and executed with mastery, giving readers intense moments of conflict and action. The prose is tight and its descriptive power absorbs the reader right off the bat, making them one with the setting and companions to the characters. The writing explores streams of consciousness that unveil deep layers of the characters. Dreams of Hegemony is a riveting story with great potential for entertainment, a wonderful escape for fans of this genre.
