Edie Medium by Dan Soderberg is a fun, well written children's book about a young girl named Edie. Edie is enthusiastic and energetic, and loves shopping and running. She likes Autumn and Spring, and likes both sunshine and rain. Edie is just like many other people, though. She's average. She has an average height, average speed, and she gets average grades. She's not an extraordinary singer, or an outstanding athlete. But Edie never lets her average abilities get her down. She remains happy, and enjoys having fun. However, one day she finds something that she is outstanding at. What is Edie is good at?

I really enjoyed reading Edie Medium by Dan Soderberg. The book is very well written and rhymes. The rhyming in this book is very well done, and it gives the book rhythm. Many people will be able to relate to Edie, because many people are average, and don't stand out. The characters are likeable, because Edie never lets the fact that she's average get her down. The illustrations are very well drawn, and depict each scene clearly. The pictures are also very colorful and bold. The book teaches that it isn't how you were born that's important, it's how you grow to be. Parents will enjoy reading this book to their children, and children will want to read this book again and again. The book is well developed and well thought out. I would definitely recommend this book to all young readers.
