Emily is a very bright, cheerful and creative little girl. She loves to write stories and draw pictures. There are a lot of other things she loves too, like bright colors, the seashore, the moon and the stars. She also likes a very special mirror that she believes is magical. Her grandmother told her it was full of magic and Emily believes that it is.

Emily has a big project. There is an empty room in the house which is to be hers and hers alone. Right now, the room is just bare walls with the magical mirror in one corner and a large window that looks out on Emily's special tree, the one that she calls her grandmother's tree because she can climb into its lap and dream wonderful dreams.

The room is hers, but Emily has to decorate it just the way she wants it to be. It's a very special task, as the room has to be just as beautiful, bright and creative as the girl herself. She is full of ideas, perhaps too many ideas, but, on the advice of her mother, she releases the ideas and falls into a deep sleep, dreaming special dreams that inspire her to create the best room ever.

Katherine Allen has written a charming story about a young girl and her creative energies. Emily's Room: Creating Spaces That Unlock Your Potential may appear to be a children's story on the surface, but it appeals to all ages and presents a concise formula to create ideal spaces in which to live. This is a colorful book about unleashing one's potential, a very inspirational book for young readers.
