Epiphany Man by D.B. Patterson is a unique story set against the backdrop of Tarpon Springs and Greece. Readers get to see the protagonist, Jonathan Nikolas Christakos, taking a personal journey and living out his tragic life where he loses his parents at a young age and also his uncle and aunt who brought him up. The story sees Jon, who is always helping the needy and being a ladies' man, finding out that he has only six months to live after being diagnosed with brain cancer. The chances of his survival are slim and how is he going to live those six months knowing his days are coming to a close?

The character of Jon is heartwarming, his background and life are palpable, and readers will feel for him. The rest of the characters in the book are also well portrayed, just like Jon, and they complement Jon very well. The story line is powerful and will pull readers into the book right from the start. The language is exquisite and the seasons and places come alive under the beautiful narration of the author. The scenes set in Tarpon Springs and the Greek villages bring out the colors of those areas, and the twists and the turns in the plot, and the protagonist's past and his present make the book a challenging read. The blending of reality and fantasy as far as the heart and soul moments are concerned is done seamlessly without sounding forced, which gives the story its originality and uniqueness.

Wow! Just, wow! That's exactly what I thought when I finished reading Epiphany Man by author D.B. Patterson. The story line follows protagonist Jonathan Christakos, a man whose life seems dogged by tragedy. His parents drowned when he was just an infant, and his aunt and uncle who raised him drown as well exactly twenty years later. They leave him a small fortune, a home, and a business. His tragedies have made him a bit of celebrity in his hometown of Tarpon Springs, Florida, and his life is always a point of interest for many there. But when he's diagnosed with a very serious cancer, it seems as if things are destined to change, both for Jon and for those that surround him. Will Jon's unfortunate past continue to rule his future, or will his luck change? You'll need to read the book to find out!

I thought that Epiphany Man by author D.B. Patterson was a simply fantastic read! It grabbed me from the beginning and didn't disappoint throughout. The author has a great voice for story telling, and his characters are so vividly drawn that his readers will feel as if they actually know them. If that isn't a hallmark of a great author, I'm not sure what is. And the inspirational undertone of the story is both heartwarming and heartfelt. I very highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a great new book or a great new author. I certainly hope that author D.B. Patterson is already working on his next novel. If it's anything like Epiphany Man, it will absolutely be worth reading!

In a unique and creative new work by author D.B. Patterson, Epiphany Man: A Novel is a book that will certainly leave an indelible mark on the minds of most readers. Follow the story of Jonathan Christakos, a celebrity of sorts in his hometown of Tarpon Springs, Florida. And what is his claim to fame, you might ask? It's the fact that tragedy seems to have followed his life. Both of his parents drowned just a week after he was born, then the aunt and uncle who became his adoptive parents drowned as well, ironically on the 20th anniversary of his parents' deaths. They left him a house, a business and a great deal of money. Jon's a bad boy with a heart of gold, but when he's stricken with cancer, it seems like much in his life, and of others in Tarpon Springs, is due for quite a change.

I very much enjoyed Epiphany Man. Author D.B. Patterson has done a terrific job in creating a story line that will hook his readers from the very start, and keep them reading obsessively throughout. Written in a very compelling narrative style, and complete with intriguing characters that readers will find themselves truly caring about, this book is one that readers won't soon forget. Any reader who enjoys a great book of fiction that is certainly far from the norm should absolutely read Epiphany Man: A Novel. I highly recommend this book, and certainly look forward to reading much more from the very talented author, D.B. Patterson, as soon as possible!
