It is a bright, warm day and Mama's working and the baby is playing. Slowly it becomes evening and the day is ending as the warm grass whispers. It is the baby's bedtime and the spotted fawn is also tired. The fawn cuddles the baby and says, 'You are everybody's baby'. The sister foxes who play all day also say, 'You are everybody's baby,' as they nuzzle her. The big brown bear and Mother Bunny have soft fur and say the same thing the others say. The moon smiles down upon everyone and the night wind blows a soft lullaby. The stars above, the earth below, and all the love around help the baby grow.

Everybody's Baby by Karissa Bettendorf is an adorable story that shows how a community welcomes a new baby. The topic is original and fresh and the author makes it magical and enchanting with her words and illustrations. The pictures make the concept palpable and breathe life into the story, giving it fluidity and movement. It is a good bedtime storybook and can be used in classrooms and school libraries for storytelling and read-aloud sessions to help children understand how new babies are welcomed by the community with love and warmth. Stories like this are good for children to read to feel the warmth, love, and kindness of the community they live in, making them understand the concept in a whimsical way that is appealing.
