Exchange at the Border by Alexandra Goodwin is a story of suspense. Porro Camorra’s life is at stake because he got the powerful Don Francisco’s daughter pregnant, and the only way he can save himself is to get out of Mexico. He thinks that if he can get safely across the fence to the US, he will have the freedom he desires. What awaits him may be so much more than he ever imagined. His journey is an adventure, one that he never dreamed possible, and it is an adventure he may never come back from ... at least, the man that Porro once was may be gone forever. Join Porro on his journey to freedom, a journey packed with suspense and something of the supernatural as he battles to earn the respect of the man he has wronged. This is a tale of love, of revenge, and ultimately of forgiveness, but the journey to get there is long.

Exchange at the Border by Alexandra Goodwin is a good story, something a little different. It is hard to believe that this is Ms. Goodwin’s first novel and it is clear that she has taken the time to make this an excellent introduction to her obvious skills as a writer. The one thing I liked about this book is that the chapters were short, but still made for compelling reading. The plot was well thought out with lots going on to keep my interest, and the character development was excellent. Ms. Goodwin has a good imagination and that shines through clearly in this story to produce something quite special. I hope that there is going to be another book to this story because, although the ending was very neat, I feel that there is more to come.
