Author Biography

Howdy! My name is Lauren. I have earned the Next Generation Indie Book Awards Historical Fiction Finalist medal and a nomination for the Montaigne Medal. I love watching the History channel, the Science channel, etc. because I love to see what new finds the world of archaeology has come across in their digs and the new theories that emerge. The recent consolidation of King Tut's treasures sparked the idea for The Lost Pharaoh Chronicles series and led to countless hours of detailed research to write these books. I can't wait for you to experience the history I've put into this series and its prequel and complement collections.

Exiled is a work of fiction in the historical thriller genre and is part of The Lost Pharaoh Chronicles Complement Collection. It is aimed at mature readers due to the presence of some potentially triggering and sensitive subject matter and was penned by author Lauren Lee Merewether. Set in a period of Egyptian history previously a mystery to historians, the book follows series antagonist Pawah as he attempts to manoeuvre himself into a position of power through intrigue and conspiracy to murder the rightful Pharaoh and his heirs. As a prophet, Pawah’s resources are plentiful, but can he bring them to bear and realize his plan to become ruler of Egypt?

Author Lauren Lee Merewether delivers a historical fiction novel set in the New Kingdom of Egypt, but with the kind of cinematic and emotional accessibility that will suit the modern reader well. I loved the world-building in this book which made me feel like I was in Egypt and made me eager to visit it for real. I felt that the author really understood the world in which the novel is set, and I enjoyed learning about the culture and history of Egypt. The central figure Pawah is compelling and flawed, making an engrossing character for us to follow. The story felt fast-paced and exciting, and I found it hard to put the book down before seeing how each scheme would conclude. Merewether did a great job of putting you in the story with the characters, racing against the clock to solve the mystery yourself. Overall, I would certainly recommend Exiled to fans of historical fiction, and those keen to learn more about the culture of Egypt.

Exiled by Lauren Lee Merewether is the complementary book to A Lost Pharoah Chronicles Series. It will appeal to ethnologists, historians, and lovers of ancient history. It began with Pawah, a narcissistic, psychopathic, and calculative schemer, plotting his way to the throne. Pawah was born to very poor parents and manipulated his way up to being the Fifth Prophet of Amun. His next target was to connect himself to the throne by seducing the Pharaoh’s daughter, Nebetah, isolating and shaping her into his puppet. But when the king named Aten as the premier god and outlawed the worship of Amun, Pawah’s priesthood became useless without the wealth and honor. His woman, Nebetah, also wasn’t in the good graces of the royal house. Will this be the end of Pawah’s quest, or does he have other aces up his sleeve?

Exiled by Lauren Lee Merewether is a masterpiece! It’s a thorough blend of fact and fiction coming together to make a fantastic story. I wanted to compare this novel to the Game Of Thrones series, but Exiled was a crazier version. Pawah was the devil’s spawn! He had to be because I’ve never encountered a human so callous in word and deed. Lauren is indeed a masterful storyteller for her ability to elicit emotions through her writing style. Her development of the characters is just perfect, in that they showed emotions rather than tell them. The plot had depth, was culturally balanced, and era-appropriate. I also saw how narcissists and psychopaths coerce and gaslight. It was scary, making me send all my love to those in abusive relationships, and wishing them the fastest exits. This book was thoroughly well-written and I look forward to Lauren’s other works.

Young Princess Nebetah has fallen for the handsome Pawah, Fifth Prophet of Amun. She is ignorant of his true intentions and his hidden nature. Pawah is a cold, cruel, calculating, and manipulative man. He is only interested in Nebetah because of her royal status as the Daughter of the King. He knows that if he has her, he is one step closer to his goal: to be Pharaoh of Egypt. Pawah will do everything he can to achieve the power and prestige he believes he deserves. However, the union of the Daughter of the King and the Fifth Prophet has consequences: the two are exiled from the great Kingdom of Egypt and sent to Nubia. Despite the banishment, Pawah’s plot for power is just beginning. Read the gripping tale of the villainous Pawah in Exiled from the Lost Pharaoh Chronicles Complement Collection by Lauren Lee Merewether and find out what happens next!

This collection is an extremely interesting take on Egypt’s historical events and this latest book by Lauren Lee Merewether features the ongoing scheme of Pawah to grasp the power of the Pharaoh. In this dark drama, Merewether has created the perfect villain I just loved to hate: Pawah, the Fifth Prophet of Amun. The Fifth Prophet is a schemer; he is superficial and lacks empathy, a true psychopath. The methods he uses to gain what he wants are inhumane and evil. He lies, twists people’s words, grooms his wife to need only him, and is unrepentant in his crimes. His cruel, but cunning plans put a dark twist into this skillfully written tale, and such a charismatic, yet apathetic villain has definitely garnered my attention. I am torn between frustration and pity for his naïve wife, Nebetah, who is blinded by a handsome face and empty promises.

I still find myself so amazed with how Lauren Lee Merewether has created these characters with their complex layers of personality and unique pasts, making them come alive through the pages. The plot is something to applaud as well! There is never a dull moment and I admit, my favorite parts are when Pawah is taken down a peg or when things don’t go according to his plans. I definitely enjoyed the power play at work and I truly loved reading this spine-tingling, mind-blowing novel with its unique and unforgettable plotline and exceptional characters. I can’t help but look forward to the next one because this book’s dramatic and thrilling ending just left me wanting more, more, more! I can only imagine what happens next and I am so excited for what else this series has in store for us.
