Fabulous Flowers: Roses #1 by Denise Bossarte is a book for all art lovers, especially the mixed media artist, collage artist, scrapbooker, and SoulCollage® card maker who wants to have beautiful, copyright-free images in their art. The book has beautiful photographs of roses and shows readers various images of roses of different hues, buds, open roses, landscape and close-up shots. The author captures the color, beauty, and personality of each rose through her lens, and her aesthetic eye is evident in the pictures. It is a book for all those who appreciate beauty, nature, and photography.
I liked going through the pictures. They are beautiful and they bring out a good feeling in the minds of readers. I like the author’s thought of choosing a layout where readers can cut out a photo without losing another photo as the pictures are only on one side of the page. The angles and visualization of the photographs will allow readers to enjoy the beauty of roses from different sides, the dew on the roses, the hues of pink, the leaves, the outer and the inner petals, and the way they are, and she brings them alive with her sharp eye. The book will encourage readers to look at their surroundings with a keener eye and will help them appreciate nature and roses. The author has also given readers the freedom to use her photos in mixed media and collage art. The pictures have their own identity and voice that will heighten the awareness of readers when it comes to observation of their surroundings and presentation of what they have snapped.
