Fallen (The Fallen Saga, Book 1) by Emily Clarke is a young adult paranormal story about the love between a human and an angel. Julie's life changes when her father gets a new job and moves across the country from Connecticut to Texas. In Texas she meets, Nick, a fallen angel that is different from the other boys Julie knew. There is chemistry between the two characters, although Julie doesn't know that Nick has taken an oath as an angel to never love a woman from Earth. Despite his resistance, Julie feels like the two might be falling in love. But when an unimaginable tragedy strikes, Julie realizes that she too is at risk. And only Nick can save her.

This is an interesting paranormal romance that readers and fans of this genre will appreciate and enjoy. The relationship between Julie and Nick is very well written and feels authentic and honest. The dialogue between all of the characters is also well executed. Readers will feel like they are listening to actual conversations between all of the characters, but especially between Nick and Julie. In fact, this book is written largely as a giant conversation, which is a very unique and interesting way to tell the story. I think most readers will enjoy the way this story is told, as long as they can keep track of which character is speaking. Very honest story that touches on real teen issues.
