Emma (aka Emily) is the heroine but also the victim of False Front by Debbie Baldwin. Nathan is the hero and romantic interest. The two were close childhood friends that haven’t seen each other for many years. When they do meet again the magic is still there and it is obvious that love will soon blossom. Emily was kidnapped as a young child. When she returned home unharmed, her rich father did all he can to protect her including giving her a new identity. She lives afraid of many things from the traumatic events of her childhood but takes a chance to go to New York and become a reporter. Nathan is now an important man with a wild reputation and unaware of what had happened to little Emily. When he requests that she is the only one who he will allow to interview him, the story really begins. There are twists, turns, danger, and suspense around every corner, and Nathan and his many friends do everything they can to fight the bad guys and protect Emily.

False Front by Debbie Baldwin is exactly what it says it is – a suspenseful romantic story. I stayed up way past my bedtime not wanting to put down False Front. I loved the intrigue, thrills, and chills and found myself holding my breath several times in anticipation of what would happen next. This is the first book that Debbie Baldwin has written, which is a pleasant surprise to me because it has all the makings of a great romantic suspense novel and none of the mistakes of a new writer. I am anxiously awaiting the next book to find out where and what Nathan and Emily encounter next.
