55 Steps to Outrageous Service by Greg Hatcher is a book that all business owners and their employees should read. The author, who has one of the top Insurance Agencies in Arkansas, tells how he started his business and the service that he provides to his customers. The most important point concerning Outrageous Service is it is a guide to a service that goes beyond the ordinary, what everyone expects. A customer expects a business owner and his employees to be truthful. By putting into practice the points in this book your outrageous service will not only have your customers returning, but also by word of mouth you will gain additional customers. When you talk about your business and tell people what you are going to do, then you must do it. Customers listen to what you say you are going to do and expect you to follow through.

This is quite an interesting read with some very good points that all could apply to their life. Everyone who reads this book will have at least a small piece to apply to their life. If you walk dogs for a living, read books, babysit or many of the jobs in the customer related field, just apply any of these concepts. This is a small book with 55 short chapters with a big message. The author kept the chapters to a page, short and interesting without rehashing the same points over and over. I suggest employers furnish each employee with a copy of this book and make it required reading. Make sure you have a pencil or marker handy for highlighting things to remember. Following the concepts in this book will keep your customers returning.
