Fight Fat With Fat by Dr. John P. Salerno is a book that will educate the reader about the misconceptions of low-fat diets. This work is about attaining a healthy life with well documented knowledge of what not to consume, as well as all of the foods we have been led to believe are harmful to us. This diet is targeted to fight diabetes, obesity and health issues brought about by low fat, high carb diets. Imagine a diet that begins with prompting you to purge yourself of all carbohydrates and processed sugars by eating foods like red meat, bacon, sausage, pork, chicken, and all of the fat that accompanies them. Whole milk, instead of Fat free, 1% or 2% fat. Coffee with heavy cream? Yummy!
I began reading Fight Fat With Fat with concerns about giving up some of my favorite foods. Whew! I was wondering why my first physical in thirty years told me that everything was working the way it was supposed to be. I was dreading that I would be told my cholesterol would be through the roof or that I might need a colon cleanse. Now I don’t have to give up my favorite ingredients. Dr. Salerno’s diet is about reprogramming what society has been misinforming the general public about how to eat healthily. If you suffer from diabetes and are overweight, you need the information in this book. It is well documented with facts on the results of today’s processed foods. Once you begin to grasp what Dr. Salerno is conveying, you will be convinced to alter your diet to get rid of foods that are not beneficial, and replace them with the foods that are. The good doctor’s book is going to reassure your concerns with many recipes that will have you salivating. He will give you a list of the best things to eat, as well as the foods you want to avoid. What do you have to lose? Weight!
