Finding Marius by Helen Yeomans is the suspenseful story of ten-year-old Marius and his carer’s friend, Erin McLean, who are on the run from Marius’ uncle, Michael Diaz. Marius is in witness protection with his carer Yolande in Fort Morgan, Colorado, and is set to testify against Michael for drug trafficking. Yolande dies from Covid so out of desperation Marius contacts Erin and the two go on the run. Michael sends his men, Sergei Bulov, Viktor Palkin, and Boris, to capture Marius and Erin. Before she passed away, Yolande wrote a statement that she witnessed Michael kill a man in Bogota. The statement is released to the press and law enforcement. What follows is a thrilling, wild ride as Erin and Marius use their wits to survive. DEA Agent Ledge Barnaby and his brother Kevin, and partners Ramires and Dan, investigate the case. Ledge is determined to find Marius and his friend Erin.

Finding Marius is an exciting story filled with action, twists, turns, and surprises. Author Helen Yeomans does a fantastic job of describing the interesting variety of characters including Marius, Erin, and the people who help them during their adventure. The scenes and locations are spectacular as Helen takes the reader through scenic cities and towns in America and Canada. I enjoyed the way Marius’ character is portrayed as a brave ten-year-old boy with an old soul who influences everyone who crosses his path. The story is smooth-flowing and an easy read, perfect for the holidays. All-round, a great novel highly recommended to both young and old.
