I never miss the chance to read a Stephanie Plum book by Janet Evanovich.

As soon as Finger Lickin’ Fifteen came in I began to prepare for the ultimate reading experience. I prepared a cup of hot tea. I made my spot on the sofa comfortable. I took a hot shower and donned my most comfortable pajamas. My husband sat down to watch a movie. I knew he was secretly watching me. He knew that at any moment I would burst out loud laughing. He grinned and said, “A new book by Evanovich?” He knows me well.

In Finger Lickin’ Fifteen Lula has witnessed a murder. Two crazy thugs decapitated a well known chef right in front of her. Now they were coming for her with the same meat cleaver. Ranger needs Stephanie’s help. Someone has been targeting his security clients. Morelli and Stephanie had a falling out and once again are broke up.

What ensues is hilarious calamity. Lula, Connie, Grandma and Stephanie enter a barbecue contest in hopes of trapping the men with the meat cleaver. It matters not that none of them can cook. When Lula once again destroys Stephanie’s apartment, by exploding a pressure cooker full of barbecue sauce, she calls on the assistance of a cross dressing Mr. Clucky. The suspense continues to build just as the laughs do. Picture Lula hanging out the window of a car, shooting at the meat cleaver guys, it isn’t a pretty picture. She’s wearing neon spandex and is stuck unable to go forward or backward until she releases …umm you get the idea. Of course the bails bondman we all love to hate, Joyce is back. The scenes between Ranger and Stephanie grow hotter with each book. As usual Stephanie’s cars blow up, her apartment explodes and it never gets old.

This is a must read. The last couple of books had lost some of their zing but it is back again in Finger Lickin’ Fifteen.

My own personal comments: Why can’t Stephanie see that she belongs with Ranger. I heard a rumor that this was the last of the series. I hope that’s not true. Grandma had a larger part in this book. I always love this gun toting grandmother. Janet Evanovich does it again!
