“Who did you say we are today?” Duke asked as the bus pulled away from the station.
“Lee and Amanda Barkley.” “Oh yeah. If someone calls my name, would you please punch me? It was much easier when I didn’t have any identity; now I have too many,”

Duke grumbled as he turned to look out the window.
The words sounded distant. He opened his eyes only to be blinded by a colored swirl of flashing lights. Keeping his eyes closed was easier, so he quit struggling, and his eyelids fluttered shut again.  Disembodied voices filled the darkness but made no sense as pain surged through his body. With pain like this, he couldn’t be dead and in heaven. He guessed hell was a possibility, but it seemed those voices he could hear in the distance wanted to help him.  Hopefully that meant he was still alive.

After a hit and run accident close to the Texas  Ranch owned  by Skylar McRae’s , little does she know  her life is about to change. Awaking in the hospital the victim does not know his name, or  why he is in Texas? Why was he wearing cowboy boots. He is  totally unknown even to himself. Even though the Dr’s can find no medical  reason for the amnesia. As he recovers from his injuries the nurse’s decide to give  him a name. No John Doe  for him. How about “Duke Green”.  Skylar  being the Good Samaritan she is, has a strange feeling she needs to take him to the ranch to finish recovering from his accident. Being no way to track his past is he running from the law? Was somebody chasing him?  How did he end up out there in the middle of nowhere walking in the middle of the night.  ng a jacket with  the initials JBC  monogrammed on it and later a brief case with the same initials, do they belong to him.

As his memory is slow but sure returning, clues  are now leading Duke  and Skylar  on a path headed straight to danger Can he be covering up a past and using this amnesia as a scam. What about the car that hit him? Was  it a accident or maybe it wasn’t.

This was a great inspirational read. Through out the story you will find betrayal, forgiveness and deeper understanding of what  God can do in the life of a person. As the story line unfolds and  the plot grows deeper, one will become more involved with the characters who are unforgettable . This is a enjoyable  book for any age.

Skylar McRae's life is about to change in ways she would never have imagined when a hit and run accident occurs close to her Texas ranch. The man who enters her life is totally unknown, even to himself. Her Good Samaritan personality prompts Skylar to take in "Duke Green", the name given to him by the hospital staff, while he recovers from multiple injuries, despite his amnesia and the fact there is no way to track his past.

Clues that help Duke put together the pieces of his forgotten past also serve to lead him and Skylar on a journey spawned by deception and headed straight into danger. Is Duke the man Skylar thinks he is, or has he succeeded in covering up a criminal past with cunning and skill?
