Fishing North Carolina is a guide consisting of a culmination of many years of background research and on-the-water personal fishing experience of the author, Mike Marsh.

The guide is broken down into the following sections: Introduction, telling how to use this guide, the weather conditions in North Carolina (NC) and safety precautions; Fish Species of North Carolina, which lists around 50 different kinds of fish, techniques in catching the type of fish, and the best fishing site to fish in order to catch these fish; Special State Fishing Programs; The Mountain Region; The Piedmont Region; The Coastal Region; and Appendix/Index.

In the Mountain, Piedmont and Coastal Regions sections of this book, the author gives in-depth information about all of the lakes, rivers, ocean fronts, peers, islands and so forth where you can fish in the state of NC. Each fishing site has its own chapter with the key species of fish that can be caught at that specific site; the overview of the fishing site; the best ways to fish at this site (boat, kayak, bank, canoe, power boat, motorboat, etc); best times to fish; everything you need to know about fishing at this site; general information; and nearest camping and directions to this fishing site. The guide has pictures and maps to better explain what this book is all about, and in the back there is an Appendix of the National Parks and Agencies.

So as you can see, this fishing guide is essential to carry on your NC fishing trip. The author did all of the work for you in putting this valuable information together. With the directions to the sites, you will save lots of time, and if you need assistance, you have phone numbers and addresses to the Parks and Agencies you might need. My son read this book as well, and being a fisherman, he highly recommends its valuable information. It is a must for the NC fisherman.
