“Wake up!!!” shouts Desmond Knipe, the author of Fix It. “You are on this planet to discover who you are, and to grow, as a spiritual being, to help and serve one another.” His book will appeal to anyone feeling unworthy, different, or afraid who is looking for a basic guide to spiritual health. Filled with simple how-to exercises that connect to a deeper part of your soul, the author covers a range of topics from changing self-defeating habits and meditating for a richer understanding of the world, to how to care for your spiritual self. There are religious and spiritual approaches that will appeal to a range of beliefs. Start each day with an affirmation, statement, or prayer. Forgive others through visualization or write a letter to release a bond lovingly. The book takes you step-by-step so you can start small such as affirming that you will not be afraid to say no that day. Awakening to a more connected life with attention to feelings allows humans to undertake work that aligns with their true purpose or greater calling. Knipe advises readers to allow their souls to take control as they travel through life and not permit their egos to steer them into strife.

Fix It reads like an easy conversation between friends. The author shares personal experiences like how he overcame his smoking addiction, lying to himself, blaming others, and hiding from problems. Desmond Knipe has come a long way from his first cigarette at 8 years old before listening to his inner voice telling him he’s a non-smoker. He illustrates the newfound purpose and power of connecting to his higher self. He shares how he conducts physical healings of family members and how to cleanse chakras and energetic fields to deepen connections. Knipe clearly explains complex topics like how to make sense of different voices when meditating. Readers will learn how to take back control from a place of love, forgiveness, and acceptance. Knipe tells us the ego will try to fight you but you must battle through and always remember you are greatly loved. From this place of love, the book will guide readers to a more enjoyable life as they embark on the journey back to love. I look forward to Knipe’s next book in the Pocketbook of Life series.
