Footprints in the Sands of Time by Andy Garner is only 57 pages long but it is very good. It is a guide book of Brazil, a holiday romance, and a picture book. Erica is 22 years old; about to start a job in a bank in England and on vacation before her new life begins. Her boyfriend Chris was supposed to join her, but they had broken up before the trip, so Erica goes to Brazil alone. On her first morning there while having breakfast, a handsome man sits down with her. After a lovely meal, the two decide they will continue their travels together. So Erica and Sam set off to see Brazil. I could almost feel as though I was seeing Brazil with Them. Pictures of what the two are seeing are a delightful addition to the story. Sam makes the trip even better than Erica had hoped and she quickly finds herself as a willing sex partner, girlfriend, and traveling companion to him.

Footprints in the Sands of Time took me to the beaches, towns, sights, and restaurants of Brazil and I loved seeing the pictures of where they were. Andy Garner made this novella much more than just a guidebook but added a love story with a surprise ending. I felt as though I wanted to hop on the next plane and rush to the beaches of Brazil. Erica was so easy to like and I felt that I so wanted to offer her some words of wisdom along the way. Sam was the man every woman would love to have a summer fling with.

I really loved this book and was so sad when the story was over. Andy Garner has earned a five star rating for Footprints in the Sands of Time.
