Ognjen Livada has a collection of children's short stories - Snail the Carpenter and The Boy Who Loved Boats (Co-Authored with Vilim Livada) - all about living your dreams, but in Forests for People he takes us on a different journey and provides education on nature, particularly the importance of trees. One day a young man came to the forest to display his love by carving his true love’s name into a tree. An older man asked him what was he doing and why did he believe that doing this was more important than respecting the tree? At this point, the older man began to explain to the younger man the importance of doing our best to respect the trees and keeping them alive and healthy. Do you know that the trees around us play a big part in creating the oxygen that we breathe? Forests for People by Ognjen Livada provides insight into just how important trees are in our everyday life.

Forests for People by Ognjen Livada is an ideal choice to have in your library. How Ognjen lays out the information as to the part that trees play in our lives, from the water that we drink to toilet paper, shows the essence of its importance. Trees are a precious commodity that must be cherished and protected if we are to continue to have the luxuries that we are accustomed to having in the world around us. Our children too must do their part in this effort. If you have an interest in finding out more about how trees affect everything around us, Forests for People by Ognjen Livada has a wealth of information that would be helpful to all of us, especially the children of the future; it's highly recommended.
