Davina Stuart has been a widow for two years, and to deal with the loss of her husband Ross, she wrote a book titled "Second Harvest" which became a bestseller and it is now being made into a movie. When she finds herself on a plane headed to L.A. seated next to Quinn Thomas, a handsome actor, who tells her he wants to date her, she is certain this younger man isn't serious, and is probably just looking for a one night stand, something that she is actually ok with. What she doesn't realize is that Quinn is tired of the glam lifestyle and has had dreams of his perfect woman, and it turns out that the woman in his dreams is Davi. Can Quinn convince Davi that he has fallen in love with her, and how will their lives ever fit together, she being a writer with grown children living on a farm in Canada, he a Hollywood heartthrob who could have anyone he wants? The thing is that he wants Davi!

I enjoy reading stories where older women are considered desirable, and Davi is certainly that. Davi had sort of decided after her husband Ross had died that she would be content with her farm, children, and perhaps grandchildren one day. She certainly wasn't looking for a relationship, meanwhile Quinn was drawn to her immediately. Deborah Armstrong really creates a relationship that is electric between Quinn and Davi, and the irony of her wanting the one night stand while he wanted more makes it an interesting situation. "Forever Love" allows the reader a behind the scenes look at how media always seems to be on hand where celebrities are concerned. There were several secondary characters that really rounded out the story, and kept the plot moving along. I also enjoyed reading about Davi's farm and her "girls". I could easily envision the barns, cattle, etc., that were a part of Davi's ranch. Ms. Armstrong provides the readers a wonderfully sweet romance, with a bit of sizzling heat, and the added twist of several suspenseful moments. All of that makes this a quick read and I was left wanting much more!

"Forever Love" by Deborah Armstong is the perfect read for anyone who enjoys spicy contemporary romance. Forty-something author and widow Davina Stuart sit next to actor heart-throb Quinn Thomas on a flight to Los Angeles to talk about the movie script for one of her books. They are attracted to each other right away, although Davina tries to be sensible. However, Quinn is very persistent and a romantic weekend follows. But there are problems as they face the future. Davina isn’t looking for a long-term relationship and Quinn has an ex who can’t let go. Can Quinn convince Davina that his love is real and can she love again? She was betrayed before, so she is wary. And at her age she most definitely doesn’t want to start a family. It is not looking too optimistic for them.

Davina is very successfully portrayed. The reader really gets inside her and feels her longings and frustrations and understands the reasons for her decisions. Quinn doesn’t come over quite as sympathetically as the heroine. You feel sorry for him for the baggage he carries and the difficulties he faces as a star, but his habit of calling Davina ‘woman’ all the time definitely becomes jarring. Settings are nicely described and you get a real sense of the characters’ lifestyles. This is very well-written, entirely believable and with nice touches of humour along the way. There is sensuality, but also tension and a few twists and turns along the way. It is good entertainment from a very promising author.

"Forever Love" by Deborah Armstrong is the love story every woman has dreamed of. Forty something Davina Stuart is on a plane from Toronto to Los Angeles because her first bestselling book is going to be made into a movie. Quinn Thomas, young handsome leading man is on the plane going to Los Angeles to finish shooting his movie. Fate has them seating side by side. The rest is history. Quinn instantly knows that Davi is the woman he has been dreaming of all his life and he is in love. Davi thinks that this handsome hunk of a man would make a wonderful one night stand. The rest of the book is their romance. Quinn is a young, desirable leading man and Davi is the older woman with three grown children and a dairy farm to tend to, but we cheer them on as they survive all of the pitfalls and fall more and more in love. We share in the blooming love affair as the couple is hampered by many things including long distance separations, a crazy infatuated director and family matters.

Deborah Armstrong has written a good old-fashioned love story. All of the characters were real and likable and I found myself emotionally involved and pulled into the story. The epilogue of the book leaves you with the promise of a sequel and I am anxiously awaiting its release. Deborah Armstrong has been added to my list of favorite authors. She has a winner with "Forever Love". I am sure Ms. Armstrong will be following her heroine’s path and soon be on a plane to Los Angeles discussing the prospects of "Forever Love" becoming a movie. If you like a good love story with a little suspense thrown in for good measure this is a must read.
