In From Runway to Love (Love in the City Series Book 3) by Melissa Baldwin, beautiful Olivia Fulton’s life as a successful model in New York is not fulfilling her as it once did. She has become disillusioned with the superficial lifestyle, and wonders in what direction her life is heading if she doesn't make some drastic changes. Her personal life is also in tatters since her relationship with Vince has come to an abrupt end after the ultimate betrayal with her friend. Olivia soon meets and unexpectedly falls in love with a man that is not in her social circle. He teaches her the importance of being true to yourself and this opens up a whole new chapter in Olivia’s life. Can Olivia risk everything she has worked for to find true inner peace and happiness? In this third book of the series, discover if Olivia can repair broken relationships and open to her heart to new possibilities.

I loved the writing style of this author as I felt that Olivia was speaking directly to me. The story line is full of colourful characters, each with vibrant personalities, especially CJ. She seemed quite formidable and with a great inner strength. Although this is the third in the series, I could follow the story quite easily, although I would prefer to read the earlier books to learn the history of each character. Olivia was an excellent protagonist and not what I was expecting. She had been drawn into a world of dog eat dog and I loved following her journey as she tried to discover her authentic self. Although parts of this story were total escapism, I did find myself wondering if I live my life in accordance with my values and beliefs when I had finished reading the book. I do not know whether the author is aware of the subconscious message in the story, but I thought it was quite profound. The author has also done a superb job of creating characters that are so different from one another, especially in a predominantly female-led novel. The dialogue was authentic and the descriptiveness of emotion was spot on. I loved the epilogue at the end as it answered all of the questions I had. A superb novel that is about not only relationships and love but true self discovery.
