God Bless My Broken Road by Stacy L. Thowe is the beautiful inspirational story of Sarah and Ben. We find them each on their own road. Sarah has been married for nineteen years. She and her husband have four amazing children and Sarah is happily building a life with them. Then the carpet gets ripped out from under her as her husband decides that he doesn’t want this anymore and leaves her. Ben is the youngest child of four. He was raised to be honest and trustworthy, working on his parents’ farm. After getting married, the cracks soon appear as his wife struggles with alcoholism and infidelity. Ben resigns himself to being single for the rest of his days until their individual roads come together. Will love be able to conquer the heartache of the past?
Written with compassion and understanding, God Bless My Broken Road is a must-read for anyone that might have given up on love. Sometimes life knocks us down and we lose faith. And sometimes, despite being kicked when we are down, some of us keep the faith, believing that there is happiness on the way. I believe that this is what Stacy L. Thowe is trying to convey. Having the strong belief that God only wants the best for us creates hope. I loved the faith that Sarah’s character brings to the story. I loved the pure, innocent goodness that Ben’s character brings in. With those mixed together, no wonder this story had me turning the pages well into the early hours.
