God Came to my Garage Sale, by renowned Dr. Marni Hill Foderaro, is an intriguing work of fiction that delves deep into the nature and existence of God from an atheist's point of view, using a garage sale as the focal point and setting. Spiritual awareness and self-realization are explored in this well-received novel, as well as life after death. We have protagonist Janet hosting a weekend garage sale due to money issues, and during this time, signs come to her that bring messages and clarity from deceased loved ones.

This author has created such an inspiring spiritual journey that you can take along with her, and it's more down-to-earth than it may seem at first glance. You have real-world problems that almost anyone can relate to such as financial difficulty, the challenge of simplifying your life, trying to sort through a cluttered life, losing a cherished home. But the truths that are unveiled during the garage sale are life-altering, and readers can benefit from these spiritual revelations and lessons. Science is beginning to explore the hidden truths and experiences of spirituality and consciousness and may bridge the gap at some point, allowing all of us to have a better understanding. The book can inspire us to be more connected to one another, and share everyday spiritual events.

The story may challenge your beliefs or bolster them, or maybe have no effect at all. But this book makes a giant effort in explaining that spirituality can thrive in the midst of dark times. As you read, you can feel the author's sense of compassion and urgency for her subject matter, and she really has a gift for conveying it in a way we can understand. The story opens with a bit of sadness for Janet, but the honesty is there, and you may see yourself or someone you know in her, but the story does pick up in a positive way from there. For a novel that may elevate your understanding of spiritual matters and your place in the universe, God Came to my Garage Sale by Dr. Marni Hill Foderaro should be at the top of your reading list.
