There are poetry collections that leave their mark and that readers will remember for a long time. One of these collections is Gusher by Christopher Stephen Soden, a revised edition of one of his previous works. In this book, the author tells us about his life without mincing words and shares his experiences, the abuses he suffered, and his relationships. Overall, he will reveal to us his point of view on the world and take us on a poetic journey like no other.

What struck me most about Gusher is that it is an extraordinary collection of poetry. What is especially remarkable is Soden's ability to reveal his thoughts to his readers. His way of saying things is powerful and clear, and I think it is primarily for this reason that this book impressed me so much. Moreover, the language Soden uses allows him to relate his experiences in an original way. Each verse makes perfect sense and keeps readers on the edge of their seats. I appreciate how these poems have been collated because they tell a story that unfolds as you read (it is easy to guess it because the author specifies his age in some of them). This is great because readers can follow the author throughout his life. Overall, I do not think I have ever read anything comparable to Gusher. I recommend this book to anyone interested in reading an unconventional collection of poetry where you can find a vivid representation of life.
