As if trying to get through senior year isn't hard enough, discovering there is a completely hidden side to your life doesn't make it any easier. In Haunting Echoes by S.L. D'Addario, Alec is the new boy in school who comes with a complicated past that he would prefer to forget. The tense relationship with his twin sister, Emily, compounds his problems and falling in love with the girlfriend of Aidan, the most popular guy in school, is another complication he should avoid. Alec can’t ignore his feeling for Lexi, though, and through a series of confrontations with Aidan, awful deaths, and the chase of mysterious creatures in Ravenswood Park, they discover that there is a lot more to their relationship than anyone could ever imagine. Together with Lexi’s mom and two sisters, Alec and Lexi face the horror that is stalking the woods and perform an unbelievable act of courage and love to try and rid the woods of the evil that represents an ancient threat.

Amazing characters and tremendous creativity bring the story of Alec and Lexi to life in Haunting Echoes. In a story that is hard to put down, these teenagers discover love and the meaning of sacrifice, along with all the other lessons of senior year. Alec, Lexi and all their friends and enemies are quite real and their emotions pull the reader in to fully share in their story. An excellent read that will leave you wanting more, Haunting Echoes is bound to capture you in its spell and make you wonder if fairy tales are really only stories.
