In "Heaven 2.0" written by Scott Haworth, Mike is an angel but not of the heavenly type. He is a technological angel sent back to the past to retrieve the recently deceased for resuscitation and transfer back to the far future. The one unified church has the resources and technology to accomplish this momentous task and has decreed that the dead should be brought back for judgment. Those found worthy are sent to a technological heaven and those found unworthy are sent to a customized hell. Mike starts to perceive the flaws in the system and realizes that some of the saved are being condemned for reasons of dogma. He finds his sympathies drawn to a rebel movement who are in a race against time to reveal the corruption of the system to the wider public of the earth.

"Heaven 2.0" is an exciting read from start to finish. The writing is polished and without the irritating flaws that spoil so many stories. The characters are well-developed and quite believable, they reflect the human condition in that they are not perfect but aspire to do their best. The story has a well-laid-out plot and develops at a good pace. while “The Church’s” dogma on homosexuality left me feeling a little uneasy, the final outcome helped remedy those concerns. The setting is well-written although I would have avoided using any current Three Letter Acronyms as these ‘false friends’ can change so quickly. In summary this was a highly enjoyable story and I look forward to reading more from this author.
