See space in a new light with Parker Lorre’s intriguing space adventure, Helios High. Soar through the skies with a ragtag team of teens as they deal with crushes, self-image, popularity, and a mystery of galactic proportions. There’s the mysterious new student, Thripis; Skreex, a large reptile who just likes eating; Orustie, a popular jock with mechanical upgrades; Krod, the academic Aegirian telepath, and Hadley, the first human at Helios High. Can this bunch of teens work together or are they from worlds that are just too different? Whether you are still in high school or long since graduated, there’s a student for everyone to identify with. Full of teen angst, hormones, suspense, drama, and space travel, Helios High is a rush of excitement.

Parker Lorre spreads out Helios High so that the suspenseful scenes keep you on the edge of your seat while the action-packed scenes are fast-paced. The pacing is excellent. The characters have rich personalities and backstories that complement their behavior. The characters are, therefore, unique and full of life. Filled to the brim with twists and turns, Helios High keeps the excitement going until the very last sentence. I gasped. I had my heartbroken. I laughed. I cringed! Lorre balanced the emotions in this book perfectly. The descriptions of space set the scene perfectly without distracting from the action. I love the time and attention every character is given, whether they are the main character or someone along for the ride. Lorre shows how everyone can play an important part.
