I really liked the concept of Hellfire & Damnation III (Volume 3) by Connie Corcoran Wilson. I grew up watching Seven with Brad Pitt and was horrified by the images I saw. Those deadly sins gave me nightmares! This collection of tales reminds me of something you would find in R. L. Stine's Goosebumps (another classic author that I grew up on). I loved the idea that each story is creepy and covers a certain sin, but also stands on its own independently and can be read over time. I loved the different characters and different settings because I felt it made this book unique.

I also really enjoyed the use of pictures within this text. The pictures were an eerie addition that just heightened the sense of creepiness the book was aiming at. Each picture related well to the story, was placed in the right spot, and was just creepy enough to make me want to skirt around the edges of it and not really look at it too intently.

I also surprisingly liked the violence of these stories. I think if you are going to read this book you have to have some tolerance for violence, which I don't mind if it is vital to the story. While these stories are definitely violent, all of the killing and maiming and hurting pushed the stories forward, so I felt that they really added to the depth of all of the stories.
