Turning passion into words in print is a dream come true for Lori Power.

From Radio host (best job ever!), DJ, news reporter to newspaper journalist, like many author’s, Lori has been writing most of her life.

In writing, Lori has discovered a truism: everyone has a great story to tell. All you need to do is listen. Over the years, with all the people Lori has meet previously and daily, both professionally and personally, with an ear to the ground, readers can often find these ‘character’s’ fictionalized in stories.

Not confined to one genre, Lori has published select children’s books and one cookbook, based on a gluten-free diet, as well as non-fiction industry blogs.

Lori’s first novel “Storms of Passion” was published by Wild Rose Press under their Champagne line, in 2014. Her second novel "Hit 'n Run", Book 1 in the "Under Suspicion" service was released in August 2015. Watch for Book 2 "The Tables Have Turned" in 2016

Collaboration is important to improving one’s craft and as such, Lori is an active member of the TransCanada Romance Writers, Romance Writers of America, The Alberta Romance Writers Association and belongs to both a Critiquing group and a Beta Reading weekly group.

Lori looks forward to continuing to find the good story; hashing out a scene, having fun with a character and writing the story she would love to read.

Hit 'n Run: Book One in the Under Suspicion Series by Lori Power is an engrossing, thrilling fiction book. Hit 'n Run combines a few genres including thriller, action, suspense, and romance into one fast-paced book. Hit 'n Run begins with an introduction to Public Relations consultant Lorna Tymchuk and Undercover Officer Mitchell Morgan. Both are strong, independent, successful people with a past. Lorna is doing well in her career when suddenly her life collides with ex-flame Mitchell. Mitchell comes from an abusive background and, although attracted and drawn to Lorna, finds that she may be linked to the very people that he is after. Lorna finds herself caught in a web of emotions and deceit as she sets out to prove to people that she is not a spy as suspected. What happens as these two strong personalities collide forms the plot of the novel.

Hit 'n Run: Book One in the Under Suspicion Series by Lori Power is a suspenseful read and kept me wondering what was going to happen next. I liked the portrayal of the main protagonists and thought that the elements and human portrayals in the book were realistic. Lori Power’s writing style is strong and engaging and keeps you reading right from the first page. This is a fun and entertaining read for a lazy Sunday afternoon, and thriller and suspense novel lovers will enjoy every minute of it. All in all, I would recommend Hit 'n Run to anyone.

In Hit 'n Run by Lori Power, Lorna literally runs into an old friend (or rather an old more than a friend) with a rental truck. While they did not recognize each other right away - him being on a mission in a hearse, and her being a bit shaken because she ran into a hearse - things start to become a little complicated after Lorna takes the guy's driver licence to a local police station, stating that she knew the man in the photo, but the name did not fit him. Mitch, her old lover (for one night), is an undercover cop. And, without intending to do so, Lorna blew his cover. They meet again, but soon things start to get a bit out of hand because both sides suspect Lorna of working for the other side (i.e. the cops think she works for a cartel, and the other way around).

Hit 'n Run by Lori Power was a pleasant surprise to me. I usually don't enjoy books like this, they just don't grab my attention. But this one was different, and I actually couldn't help but finish it within less than two days. The plot was quite interesting, and the two main characters had quite the chemistry. There wasn't a lot of fluff around the main story, and the plot developed at a nice pace. The sex scenes probably could have been shortened and more left to the imagination, but apart from that, it was a rather enjoyable read.

Hit 'n Run: Under Suspicion, Book One is a romantic thriller written by Lori Power. Lorna Tymchuk, founder and president of her own public relations company, was focusing on how to best manage a problem client while driving the over sized dual truck the auto rental company stuck her with. When a hearse ran through a stop sign, Lorna was unable to avoid hitting it broadside. While her rental truck was barely damaged, the hearse had sustained significant damage. The driver ran out to see if she had been injured, and he indicated that he was short on time. He gave her his driver’s license so she could report the accident and then asked that she mail him back the license when she was finished. Lorna was stunned when she realized that the rather brusque and scruffy driver was actually Mitchell Morgan, last seen by her five years ago at university where she tutored and fell in love with him. That wasn't the name listed on the license he left with her, but she was certain it was he. At the police station, the officer who took down the details of the accident did not seem at all concerned about the name on the license, telling her that the DMV had confirmed the driver’s identity.

Lori Power's romantic thriller, Hit 'n Run: Under Suspicion, Book One, is well-written and suspenseful. Lorna is a strong and intriguing character whose sad and abusive childhood has left her feeling tainted and unlovable. Power weaves past and present in this absorbing story which involves a police sting that targets a crime family, with unforeseen repercussions. The story is fast-paced and taut, and the conclusion is by no means predictable. I especially enjoyed the chase scenes set in the British Columbia wilderness and the descriptions of the natural areas where Lorna’s photo shoot is set. I'm looking forward to further books in Powers' Under Suspicion series. Hit 'n Run is a fun and suspenseful action thriller which is highly recommended.

Hit 'n Run by Lori Power has its beginnings in a hit and run, one involving a pretty blonde, Lorna, who hits a hearse, and the driver Mitch, towing a hearse. Mitch, who obviously is in a hurry, leaves his license with her and goes away. She reports the incident and during reporting mentions that the other driver in fact is her old friend with a fake license, alerting the police. The hearse turns out to be part of a clandestine police operation against certain business syndicates, in which her employer is one of the kingpins. The more Mitch tugs at any thread of his investigation, the more it seems to take him back to Lorna. She has to save herself from her employer while her old friend, along with the police force, will have to find ways of helping her and keeping the investigation going without any disruptions.

Hit 'n Run by Lori Power is a suspenseful drama. This is a gripping story and told with a disciplined moderation, except in the romantic interludes which, the hero being chivalrous, happened quite often. An element of anxiety and suspense is maintained throughout. All the cardinal scenes, of chase as well as escape, are drawn quite realistically, many a time leading one to miss a heartbeat. Congratulations, Lori, you have done a good job.

Hit ‘n Run is a fast paced story based on the budding romance between Mitchell Morgan and Lorna Tymchuk. These two lovers previously met at university but drifted apart. They literally bumped into each other when their cars collided in an accident in Vancouver. Mitchell, an undercover police officer, was driving a hearse whereas Lorna was behind the wheel of a big truck. Mitchell, who prefers to be called Mitch, didn’t stop at the red stop light. Mitch was able to track down Lorna and maintain contact. Lorna became a suspect in the case that Mitch was directly involved in. As a result, her life was in danger. She was kidnapped and Mitch had to race against time to save Lorna.

Hit ‘n Run is an intriguing novel. I was immediately enthralled from the first chapter. Author Lori Power did an excellent job in creating a plot filled with lots of suspense. I thoroughly enjoyed the unfolding action scenes in the story. The language used is simple and colloquial. The average reader can understand and relate to the content of the storyline. I love the romantic thread revealed in the novel. It lends a realistic touch to the plot. You can envision the spark of chemistry between the two main characters. I felt the emotional tug of war that the male hero was experiencing throughout his personal dilemma. Hit 'n Run is an entertaining and appealing book. I recommend it to all readers, especially those who appreciate romance and suspense novels.
