    Book Review

I volunteered to review Christopher Hitchens CD’s because I agreed with his excellent writings. As an atheist I wanted a better understanding of him as a person. The why, what, where, how, and who that defined each person is what I ask guests on my radio show. These CD’s give the answers for Hitch.

He does much more. You experience, with him, the people, and events that shaped the history of the world during the last fifty years. His retelling is more than mere the facts of one gutsy correspondent on the front lines as history was made; it is his intellectual insights as he interprets their meanings and consequences.

He challenges the sacred cows that most people take as gospel and boldly dissects them, exposing their stinking carcasses. So, if you want a unique understanding of these major events, the effects, of which, we are now trying to cope with, listen as Hitchens tells all. Personally though, while I understand that CD’s can be listened to in ways that a book cannot, I would have preferred to read this. The sound technician should have turned up the volume when Chris’s voice would sink softly and I’d miss a word or phrase.
