Holiday Joy by Valerie Allen is a heartwarming story about Christmas miracles. Christmas is a happy time, but Jesse has sad news for his family. He was informed that he would be losing his job. With all the pending bills and Christmas shopping to do, Jesse does not think his family will make it through the festive season. When he arrives home, he is welcomed by his happy but oblivious daughter Joy and wife Sarah. He informs Sarah of the situation, and they believe that they will manage somehow, just as they always have. The next day, Jesse goes to work for the last time, while Sarah and Joy maintain a positive attitude throughout the day. That night, Jesse returns home with his last paycheck, a bag of candies and toys, and the best news.
I loved reading this book because of its beautiful message. No matter how bad the situation, always remain positive. Jesse and his family were in a hopeless position, but they continued their day with a merry Christmas spirit. The story is authentic and the characters are relatable. Jesse is a man trying to provide for his family, Sarah is a loving and supportive wife and mother, and Joy is an adorable child. Valerie Allen has created a classic Christmas tale with all the right ingredients. If you require a light-hearted Christmas read, then look no further. Holiday Joy will lift your spirits and make you believe in Christmas miracles.
