Author Biography

Having grown up in enriching and ever-changing environments as my family moved many times during the first 12 years of my life, I never had a chance to get bored. A science teacher by education, and also having spent many years in the casino/hotel industry which created daily situations requiring split-second decisions, I have been forever tested with new challenges. Now as a retiree and an avid science research reader, I brought cutting edge science, wrapped in a love story, punctuated by adventure into the novel, Hybris.

Hybris by Don Trimble is a novel that explores human greed and the insatiable thirst for power and how far they can lead the human soul. A powerful cartel is determined to establish a one-world government and take total control of the entire world — an arduous, very difficult, but not impossible task. Hampton Squires, who owns Squires’ Pharmaceutical, is among the elite group that would control the world, but he has a serious problem: he has only a few years to live. So, with the resources at his disposal and a wonderful team of experts, Squires is ready to try the impossible; seek immortality by discovering the fountain of youth. When his team perishes in inexplicable circumstances when they were about to accomplish their mission, Squires hires the two people who can complete the job, T. Hill Mansfield and Renée Mansfield, and he wants the knowledge to be entirely his. What Squires doesn’t know is that the two experts have their own plan; they want everyone to have access to the secret. But what will it cost them?

This riveting story deals with issues that have been with mankind since the dawn of time: the innate desire for eternal life and the will to rule. An expert storyteller, Don Trimble explores the psychology of greed with amazing skill, constructing a conflict that is exceptionally powerful and mesmerizing. Readers will love the archaeologists, Hill and Renée, as they tread a very dangerous terrain in search of a secret hidden within the desert. The author knows how to toy with the emotions of readers by creating scenes with a lot of suspense. The reader becomes very curious, wanting to know if the two experts will succeed in their mission, but what will happen when they put their covert plan into execution? The unpredictability of the plot and the high stakes in the conflict make Hybris a compelling read.
