In I Ain't 'Aving That! British author Martin Rogers offers a tongue-in-cheek rendition of what to do when you feel you have gotten a raw deal in life. With a wonderful sense of humor, Rogers attacks irritating problems such as what to do when you've gotten bad food or a bad product in a store or have been unjustly accused of something of which you were totally innocent. Obviously a natural scrapper from birth, the author has proven himself to be a resourceful man in times in which simple survival is a daily task. Some of the funniest chapters deal with his ongoing problems with the Housing Council. Being homeless, he decides to camp out at the agency until he finally gets some sort of satisfaction. Even then, he is offered sub-standard housing and he spends hours daily trying to get adequate heating and plumbing. His stamina is something to be envied. But, even though the reader likely cheers Rogers on in his attempts to make things right for himself, you can't help but wonder the cost to others.

It is obvious to most readers that Rogers probably brings on some of his troubles with his failures to plan and his wandering eye. But his approach in trying to rectify a difficult situation is nothing short of admirable. Rather than whine or complain, the author assumes a motivation of "I Ain't 'Aving That!" and he proceeds to get information which will in some manner result in a form of personal satisfaction. In some cases, Rogers gets monetary rewards for his efforts but, for the most part, he appears content simply to have successfully tried to set a small part of the "system" right!
