Author Biography

I don't understand a lot of things - I guess that's why I ask so many questions. But one thing I do know: Santa Claus is real! How do I know? Because one year, I almost ruined Christmas. My curiosity is always getting me in trouble. You know what they say - curiosity killed the cat, and this one Christmas...

I wrote this book because of some misadventures I had when I was little and too excited about Christmas for my own good. I have always been, and still am, incredibly curious. That curiosity got me in trouble A LOT! Not because I was a bad child, but because I was constantly exploring things and trying to figure out how things worked, and OOPS! Suddenly it's broken or I'm stuck and can't get out. None of the mishaps decreased my curiosity, however. Sometimes it made it worse!

Anyway...I hope you enjoy my book. People tell me they read it over and over at Christmas because it really captures the spirit. My wish is that you find it meaningful too! Happy reading!

I Have Questions, Lots and Lots of Questions is inspired by David Lane when he was six years old. The story is told from the perspective of a little boy. He is so excited about Christmas and can't stop asking various questions. It's Christmas Eve, so it's a great time to be happy. That's why he wants to know things, like why this celebration is only once a year, what Santa's life is like, and everything related to this date. His parents do their best to satisfy his insatiable curiosity; however, there are so many things to learn. We can watch this adorable boy in his daily activities as he conveys his excitement to us. At night, he shares his desire to receive gifts. The adorable illustrations by Caleb McBee highlight the tenderness of this marvelous tale.

David Lane expresses himself naturally and funnily, even in his bio where he answers some of the questions raised in the story. His narration is great and offers us friendly characters. At the same time, he shares good values by showing a patient and loving family. I loved Caleb McBee's illustrations. He sometimes uses different angles, not just frontal images, and highlights textures well. In addition, the colors reflect harmony. Both the story and the visual content convey a lot of love. I Have Questions, Lots and Lots of Questions is an excellent option to inspire children's curiosity and interest in Christmas.
