I Love You Today by Sean Smith is a charming storybook of the love between a father and a child, which the author expresses beautifully through the eyes of both the father and the child. The father makes their favorite breakfast, cleans up the mess after his daughter finishes playing, sings her favorite song, makes her laugh at his jokes, and fills her day with joy, love, and hope. This story of unconditional love and parental bonding will tug at the heartstrings of readers and leave a lasting impression in the minds of both children and parents alike.
The story is heartwarming and captures the love between a father and a daughter beautifully. Both the feelings of the father and the daughter are relatable and tangible, and connect well with readers. The illustrations capture the moments shared between the father and daughter nicely, and give life and movement to the scenes and the characters. It's a good bedtime storybook and can also be used for read aloud sessions in classrooms and school libraries. I recommend this book to all parents who read stories to their kids at night as it makes an excellent bedtime storybook.
Books make it easy for kids to connect to the concept and the message when there are illustrations and a story to go with it. The moments between a father and a daughter have been expressed well and it's something which all fathers and daughters will be able to relate to.
