Jerry Manning was raised by Crazy Annie and her dogs. No one knew the true story about how he came to live with her. She called him Raven. He was about five years old when she sent him to a military school. Could he be the son of a crazy woman or gypsies? Or could he be the kidnapped son of a wealthy family that presumed him dead. He took the name Jerry Manning and searched for his true identity. He believed he was the son of Jonathan Manningham. Slowly he becomes involved in the Manningham family.

"I Pray The Lord My Soul To Keep" revolves around the lives of two brothers, their father, Jerry Manning and the Civil War. One brother is ready to accept Jerry as a brother. The other brother suspects Jerry is after their money. War breaks out and the family is split apart even further.

Mr. Tucker has a talent for drawing the reader into the plot. His characters come to life on the pages. I felt as if I were part of the story. Well written, entertaining and life-like...what more could a reader ask for? History buffs will not want to miss it.
