I Will Miss you, Daddy! by Carrie Rhea is the adorable story of Michaela who loves to swirl and twirl, wearing her ballerina tutu and ballet slippers. She loves to read, she loves the color orange, and she loves her family. Michaela's daddy is a soldier in the army and sometimes he is away for a long time on trips to do his job. This time he is getting ready to go to Afghanistan for a long time and Michaela does not want him to go. This story is dedicated to the children of all the soldiers who are away from home and their families, who wait eagerly for them to return.

The story is a heartwarming one and handles the concept of deployment beautifully. Michaela also shows the ways to stay connected with your loved ones while they are gone. The illustrations are lively and colorful and they give a good pace and movement to the scenes. The characters are well sketched and many kids can connect well with the plight of Michaela. It's an excellent bedtime storybook and can also be used for read aloud sessions in classrooms and school libraries.

Michaela's character is lovable, real, and relatable. She captures the emotions of many kids who go through periods of separation from their loved ones when they are gone for work. She will make them understand how their daddy's work is important and how by drawing pictures and having fond memories they can feel better.
