Kathryn is researching earthquakes under the Antarctic Plate at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. Over the last six months, the tremors have become worse. Kathryn receives a seismograph reading showing an earthquake on its way to Antarctica. This can cause mountains of ice to fall into the sea, and the sea levels will rise. Inga is on her way to Miami with her friend for spring break. A hurricane is destroying Miami and Inga and her friends need to get to higher ground. Kathryn warns her husband Nick to take Inga and Liam to their cabin. Nick had arranged with a friend to pick up Inga and her friend, but he left without them. The airports are closed and their only way out is by boat. Ice Crash: Antarctica by Lynda Engler is an environmental thriller that will keep you reading avidly!

Ice Crash: Antarctica by Lynda Engler had my attention from the first page. The story started by describing the three main characters. The tension builds slowly until the climax when the earthquakes change everything. The story is full of action and there is never a dull moment. Each chapter was allocated to either Kathryn, Nick, or Inga's account of the events in their lives at that moment. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat until everything came together in the end. The characters were real and relatable. They were strong from the beginning and throughout the story. The drama is excellently narrated, and the locations were described in detail. I felt as if experienced the devastation of the hurricane and Kathryn's concern for her family’s safety.
