If You Were Me and Lived in... Russia: A Child’s Introduction to Cultures Around the World by Carole P. Roman is another book from the author’s series where children are encouraged to learn about new countries, the cultures, customs, places of interest, and people there. Children are taken on a brief tour of Russia and they get to read about Moscow, the capital city of Russia, which is also the most populated city in Europe, the Kremlin, St. Basil’s Cathedral, and Red Square. Children also learn about chess and fipe, which are popular Russian games. They also learn about the delicacies of the country; caviar and borscht.

These books are the best way for children to become educated about other countries in an interesting and engaging way. I think this series will encourage children to travel and discover the world. The illustrations, as in the other books by this author, are eye-catching and they give clarity and depth to the author’s concept. What a wonderful way to teach children about other countries and what makes them different from the country they are living in! This series is a must-have in every school library and parents should keep these books at home for their children to explore new places and get glimpses of other countries. The pronunciation of many words and the meanings given by the author at the end of the book are useful to young readers.
