With everything going on—busy schedules, a tough economy, and competitive environments—when do people ever have time for God? In Your House Lord by Marie Ashby challenges you to look deeply within yourself and your relationship with God. Marie is testimony to the fact that there is much to be grateful for. Throughout the book, we can see her praising God for the great things He has done in her life. He has provided, loved, and cared for her, which she does not take for granted. She is also grateful for His constant presence by her side, holding her hand through the darkness and the stumbling blocks that life has thrown at her. She also shares her sorrows and asks God to give her strength to face the unseen. Lastly, we see her praising and glorifying the Almighty for how far He has held her hand as she testifies always to have faith in Him and serve only Him. This only shows that we should glorify God not only at happy times but at all times since He remains the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

A worthy lesson I learned from Marie Ashby is that for you to have a great relationship with God, you should be intentional and committed. Follow in His footsteps, follow His word, and act upon it. That way, whatever you ask for, God will grant you, just like an obedient child is granted whatever he wants from his parents. I admired the relationship that the author has with God. She is humble while talking to Him and in the types of conversations they have. There is not a day that she does not set aside to strengthen her relationship. She always glories in the Almighty, regardless of the situation that she is in, and that's admirable. Therefore, I recommend In Your House Lord to Christians who are yearning to see God, those who seek reasons to praise Him, and those who are too busy to praise Him. The book will give you reasons to glorify Him and know Him better.
