Prepare to venture into the unpredictable and dangerous world of oil drilling with Into The Storm. In this absorbing memoir, Vern Buzarde recounts his life traversing the world, working on drillships in some of the most volatile places on Earth. Since he was a teenager, Buzarde sought to follow in his father's footsteps into offshore drilling. After a youthful summer retreat in Jakarta, Indonesia, he started his first real job in the Reading & Bates company. Throughout the years, he saw his share of tragedies, accidents, and success, moving from one continent to the other and eventually becoming a rig manager. He left the industry for a brief period but returned after R & B merged with Transocean, witnessing the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill disaster first-hand on the Macondo Prospect.

Vern Buzarde shares an unflinching account of a life lived to its fullest. Into The Storm is a motivational memoir that demonstrates how triumphs and losses are both part of the mystery we call life. Buzarde's decades of experience in offshore drilling can be easily seen in his writing, as his passion for his work shines through the pages. In this book, he provides an inside view of the drilling industry, showcasing the change and advancements throughout the decades and the scrutiny that comes from federal agencies and the general public in the aftermath of disasters. Much like oil drilling, life is full of surprises, and Buzarde has some truly unique insights into that. Overall, a memoir that inspires you to go for what you want to do.
