Believing himself to be a curse, J.P spent his life trying to build up his luck. When he buys an Ouija board at a sale, J.P. believes he can finally speak with his mother. In the spine-tingling horror story, Invitation to Darkness by Barb Shadow, Ouija boards, and paranormal investigation take on a terrifying aspect. It is a well-written book with a solid, breathtaking plot, well-defined characters, and an intricately woven storyline. The story moves along at a quick pace, building to a dramatic finale. Smoothly shifting between the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, the bloodcurdling storyline kept me on pins and needles all the way from the entrance of the entity to the conclusion of the story. As a former ghost hunting fan, I couldn't put the book down until I was sure the negative spirit had been dealt with. It is a mesmerizing novel with a scary and memorable plot that will chill and thrill ghost hunting aficionados everywhere.
