Sally Saffer in her well written book, It's No Use Crying Over Spilled Milk, gives the reader an educational peek into the life of Grandma Sally and her three grandchildren, Lisa, John and Amanda. They are soon going on an outdoor adventure. While they are on their way to the zoo for a fun-filled outing they have an enjoyable trip. However, when they arrive at the zoo, the excitement soon fades as they find no one at the zoo and they see a sign that it is closed for repair. It is here the saying of the book comes to life and the children ask their grandmother who spilled milk? She then explains how they have a choice in how they can view their situation, allowing it to ruin their day or they can regroup and enjoy their time together. Later that night, they share their new found wisdom with their father while sitting at the dinner table.

Little Wise Guy the owl takes the reader into a deeper understanding of this aphorism for clarity and purpose. This is a very enjoyable and well illustrated book that children and adults would enjoy. This would be a great book to have in special reading classes, as well as libraries, and is a great bedtime story for a parent to read with their children. Author Sally Saffer does a wonderful job of illustrating and penning the words to this story, allowing both children and adults alike to connect in a special way.
