David had been in love with Jasmine for a long time, but she just wasn't interested in him. Added to that, her sisters didn’t want to let her grow up, so she ran away from her riverboat home and her past to try to pursue a life of fame and fortune. But was Jasmine ready for this huge change to a lifestyle that was new and different to her? Did she love this life of fame more than her home and family? Did she love her new life more than the past she had to give up?

This is a really good read that I thoroughly enjoyed! The characters were well written and solid, and the plot was interesting and intriguing with the many twists and turns throughout the story that kept me reading. In following her dreams, Jasmine put her relationship with God on the back burner, and made her career number one in her life. When Jasmine realized that the grass is not always greener on the other side, David still cared for her and was there to rescue and help her. I really liked the way authors Diane T. Ashley and Aaron McCarver wove the promises of the Bible into the lives of the characters, showing that God is interested in our dreams, and will be there to help us use our talents for His glory. If you are a historical buff, you will love this story, so I encourage you to check out Jasmine, as well as the other books in this series. You will find a delightful read.
