Although this book could be classified as a booklet with only 110 pages, but those pages are packed with a lot of useful information. It is straight forward and Jill expresses her enthusiasm as she writes. This enthusiasm spills out to the reader and hopefully, we will pass along our enthusiasm and positive outlook when meeting new people. She explains how to start a conversation, continue a conversation and even how to react in job interviews. I enjoyed this book, especially since my therapist tried to instill the same positive attitude within me just days before I received this book.

While I tend to not like books that seem too upbeat, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed reading this book and learning from it. By stringing together anecdotes, exercises, and simple guidelines, Jill Speigel explains how to improve your communication style, and helps you to learn how to address common problems like not knowing how to start a conversation, what to do when you forget a name, and how to deal with difficult people. Many of the points in the book seem simple and obvious, but they are also the things that we seem to forget most in our day to day interactions. While there are other books that cover conversational style issues in more detail, you'll get a lot out of this quick read.
