The stories behind the music make for exciting reading. Too often, people do not realize the hard work that goes into making recordings. Dominique sheds light on the hard work Jon B and other artists put into developing results in the entertainment industry. Jon B overcame many obstacles, including his race. Not only does Dominique draw back the curtain on the music industry, but she also enters into Jon B’s personal life and shares his personal struggles. Jon B was a true pioneer and path maker for Caucasians joining the R&B sound.
Dominique decided to write about Jon B and his influence and his struggles in becoming an R&B legend. It was not easy for a Caucasian to become a star in R&B, and Dominique M. Carson chronicles how Jon B blazed the trail for other Caucasians to enter the field. Dominique’s writing style is informative as well as entertaining. She presents Jon B with great sensitivity. She makes sure her words are easy to understand and worth reading. Dominique is to be applauded for showing the hard work of Jon B and highlighting his life. She has genuinely honored a great man of music. After reading this book, you will feel like you know Jon B personally.
