Jump!: An epic travel and soul adventure is a work of non-fiction in the form of a memoir and was penned by author Lenerd Louw. The book begins at what may, for some people, seem like the end of a life’s work and achievements, when Lenerd Louw has reached high status with tons of wealth and success as a CEO of an insurance company. With girls on every arm and drugs on demand, Lenerd realizes that following these typical goals hasn’t brought him any kind of truth or satisfaction about life, and so he drops everything to embark on an epic journey around the world with nothing but a backpack to his name.
Author Lenerd Louw recounts his epic tale of self-discovery with a keen sense of the flaws of his previous life, opening our eyes to a seemingly glamorous, but ultimately empty world which he left behind. Louw’s narration is frank and honest, beginning as that of a businessman, but slowly evolving as his experiences alter him, opening him up to less rigid control and more flow in his prose. What results is an expressive and eye-opening work of both interesting travel fiction and startling personal discovery, and the organization is well thought out so that each experience is related to the typical ‘self-help thinking’ models and those ideas are challenged by the simplicity of freedom and discovery. Overall, Jump!: An epic travel and soul adventure delivers exactly what it promises, and is sure to satisfy memoir fans looking for incredible transformation tales.
