"Just Teddy," a children's book written by Emily Lim and illustrated by Neal Sharp, is an adorable story about a bear trying to fit in with others and learning a valuable lesson that all young readers will enjoy. Just Teddy has been created by the toy maker, but he is lonely and he sets out to find who else is living in the toy shop. Just Teddy meets a group of polar bears, but Just Teddy does not look like them and he does not fit in with this group. Just Teddy meets some Panda Bears, but he does not look like them either. He tries to change his looks to fit in, but that only results in being teased. Just Teddy ends up on a shelf with penguins, but no one seems to want a teddy bear disguised as a penguin until one day a little girl comes to the shop and sees Just Teddy for who he is.

This story is perfect for young children as it is filled with beautiful and soothing illustrations and the words used to tell the story are at a young child's level. The lesson that is shared through this story and illustrations is one that is so important to begin sharing with children at a young age, as even at young ages they are attempting to fit in with others around them and will change themselves in order to feel as if they belong. Just Teddy is taken home by a little girl and she works on cleaning him up and he is restored to his original state and she loves him. Just Teddy learns that he is loved and accepted for who he is, he does not need to have spots, or look a certain way in order to be loved, he is special just how he is. This is a lesson that all children need to be reminded of and Lim has created the perfect resource for doing just that!
