In the latest novel from Dawn Kopman Whidden, Keeping Hope Alive, hikers find skeletal remains in the woods and Jean and Marty are called to the crime scene. Robert Lyons, the medical examiner, is already there, and his preliminary examination indicates a young female victim, that has been there for between 40-50 years. Search dogs on the scene alert investigators to two more graves, each containing a decomposing body, and one containing a decomposing body with more recent remains. So begins an investigation to discover the victims and their identities. Several characters play a pivotal role in the case, and the plot moves along at a steady pace, with plenty of surprises in store! A must-read!

Dawn Kopman Whidden has produced another great novel in Keeping Hope Alive. This is one of a series of books, but it was easy to follow without having read the previous novels. The cast of characters is interesting and varied, and some feel like old friends, making you feel part of their journey through the book. The story flows easily and comfortably, whilst containing sufficient excitement, intrigue and suspense to keep you hooked. Add some romance, interesting parents and an intriguing, but strange teenager, and some unexpected plot twists, and you have a good excuse to stay up late to read! Dawn Kopman Whidden has crafted this story very well, with just the right amount of pace, and I certainly look forward to reading future novels from her.
