Killing Heel Pain: Your Final Freedom from Plantar Fasciitis by Dr. Karen L.Smith, DPM is a helpful as well as useful guide that explains and simplifies the condition Plantar Fasciitis. Pain can be scary, unpleasant, and inconvenient. The author makes this an easy to follow guide by using the question and answer format, enabling readers to get answers to the burning questions patients usually have. The ‘key points’ cheat sheet at the end of each chapter, as well as the action steps, give precise directions to finding solutions for PF. The author helps readers understand what lies beneath the pain, thereby giving them peace of mind as well as enough knowledge about PF.

I found the book extremely helpful as PF is a condition that troubles many people, and this book gives insight into ‘what is going on and why’ so that patients can decide on the treatment options that will be effective for them. The illustrations are interesting and they help in understanding the condition better. The topic is handled methodically, leaving no room for doubt in readers who have been struggling with PF and have not yet found a remedy to resolve the pain. The key points about the type of shoes that need to be used is helpful in choosing the right footwear for those who have PF. Reading this book and the author’s techniques and suggestions will help in putting readers on the right path of healing and getting rid of Plantar Fasciitis.
